On February 22, 1980, I was 10 years old. My uncle called my dad that Friday night to celebrate the greatest sports victory in my lifetime. The USA had beaten the unbeatable soviet team. Hockey wasn’t big in my house, so we didn’t watch the game, but I’ve never forgotten that phone call, nor the enormity of that win.

The USA did not win that game by luck, we won because one man understood that the right team of players, working together, could accomplish anything. When picking his team, Coach Herb Brooks was told that he had left some of the best players off his roster, Coach Brooks responded, “I am not looking for the best players, I am looking for the right players.”
